Jesse Galvon And Bari-Lynn Erais Win 2005 BMO Financial Group Future Links Prairie Championship
Saskatoon, Sask. – Jesse Galvon of DeWinton, Alta. finished the final round shooting a one-under-par 71 for a tournament total of three-under-par 213 to win the 2005 BMO Financial Group Future Links Prairie Championship at Moonlake Golf and Country Club.
“The other competitors gave me a good run for my money,” said Galvon, the first time Future Links champion. “I was in the zone today and I hit the ball unbelievably.”
Mitchell Fox of Okotoks, Alta. finished three-shots off the lead with an even-par three-day-total of 216, while Brock Robillard of Calgary was one-shot back of Fox with a tournament-total 217. Making an excellent run for fourth position was Nicolas Archambault of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. who shot a six-under 66 in the final round to finish with a three-day-total of 220, tied with Mathieu Rivard of Granby, Que. In sixth position Charles-Étienne Boucher of Montréal tied with Richard Conlin of Richmond, B.C. at 223, ten-strokes off the lead.
In the Junior Girls division Bari-Lynn Erais of Lethbridge, Alta. played another consistent round shooting a four-over 76 to finish with a tournament-total 235 and her first career Future Links victory. Pamela Burneski of Surrey, B.C. finished second with a three-day-total of 241, six shots back. Following close in third position was Gabrielle Cry of Blainville, Que. who shot a tournament-total 242 while three-time Bantam Girls champion Jessica Wallace of Langley, B.C. finished with a total of 243.
By winning the Junior Boys division, Galvon also earned an exemption into the 2005 Canadian Junior Championship, August 7-11 at Craigowan Golf & Country Club in Woodstock, Ont. As well, the top three finishers in the Junior Girls division earned exemptions into a BMO Financial Group Canadian Women’s Tour event.
In the Bantam Boys division, Scott Lowe of Calgary led wire to wire shooting a final-round 80 and a tournament-total 239 to finish three-shots ahead of Scott Malo of Calgary who finished with a tournament-total 242. 11-year old Garrett Neiles of Winnipeg, Man. completed his first Future Links Championship with final-round 86 and a tournament-total 267.
Nicole Zhang of Calgary won the Bantam Girls division with a very respectable tournament-total of 253.

The second of six regional BMO Financial Group Future Links Championships, the 2005 Prairie Championship featured 84 of the country’s best junior male and female golfers from Alberta, Quebec, Manitoba, Ontario, British Columbia and Saskatchewan who competed in four categories: Junior Boys (14-18 years), Junior Girls (14-18 years), Bantam Boys (11-13 years) and Bantam Girls (11-13 years).
