2008 Callaway Interior Tour Pro Am Nk’Mip Canyon
One of the most anticipated events of the IPGA Tour schedule took place yesterday Monday, May 26th. The 2008 Callaway Tour Pro-Am held at Nk’Mip Canyon Golf Course was a tremendous success. Twenty-eight professionals and their teams participated in a 4 man best 2 net ball format.
It wouldn’t be a tour event without a little weather playing its part. On this Monday, the weather played a huge part with winds gusting heavy and often all afternoon. Nk’Mip Head Professional Jeff Papillion mentioned it was the hardest he had ever seen the wind blow. By days end, everyone’s face had a look of relief and wind burn as well.
Campbell Watt of the Penticton Golf & Country Club prevailed as the low professional shooting a one over par 73. John Ferrier of Doc’s Golf Centre and amateur partners Neil Parent, Ben Yasinski, and Marty Platz finished 1st in the team competition. A very special thank you goes out to the Nk’Mip Canyon Golf Course, Head Professional Jeff Papillion, and his staff for organizing an outstanding tournament.
Another large thank you that cannot be overlooked goes to Grant Oben with Callaway Golf and his generous prizing and wonderful tee-gift for the amateurs.
