2008 Canadian Senior Women's Championship Round Two Results
Jackie Little of Port Alberni, B.C. fired an even-par 71 today to lead Team BC to their second straight victory in the inter-provincial team championship at the 2008 Royale Canadian Women’s Senior Championship being played at Bally Haly Golf and Curling Club in St. John’s Nfld.
British Columbia team members Jackie Little, Lynda Palahniuk, Elaine Blatchford and Phyllis Laschuk posted a final 37-over 463 to successfully defend their title by 22 strokes over Ontario at 485 and Alberta at 487. This win is B.C.’s 13 th title.
Little, pulled away from the field by 11 strokes to maintain the top spot at 5-over 147 heading into the final round. Lynda Palahniuk of Kelowna, B.C. and Alyson Martin of Vancouver, B.C. both moved up to share a third of second place at 16-over 158.
Karen Pultz of Surrey, B.C. and Holly Horwood of Vancouver, B.C. are in a four-way tie for fifth at 19-over 161 while Phyllis Laschuk of Vancouver slid to a tie at 9 th with 20-over 162.
Defending champion, Alison Murdoch of Victoria, B.C. sits tied for 14 th at 22-over 164.
In the super seniors division, Alyson Martin of Vancouver, B.C. played steady and posted 8-over par 79 to stay in first at 16-over 158.
The final round commences Thursday morning at 7:30 am off the #1 tee.
