ATB Financial Classic - Can Tour

The Canadian Tour stops in Calgary, Alberta June 23 - 29 for the ATB Financial Classic. The 72-hole tournament, held at the Cottonwood Golf & Country Club, features a full field of 156 competitors.

Cottonwood Golf Club is situated just 15 minutes south of the city limits along the picturesque Bow River.

The 6,963 layout plays to a par 71.

Players to Watch

Mike Grob - The defending champion and all-time leading money winner on the Canadian Tour. Finished T-7 at the Times Colonist Open after a slow start to his 2008 campaign. Had six top tens in 2007 including his win in Calgary and made 11 of 13 cuts during the season. The Montana native won the 2006 Times Colonist Open and at age 44, is still one of the top Canadian Tour players. Grob played the Nationwide Tour from 1999 through 2001 and split his time between the PGA TOUR and Nationwide Tour in 2004. His best finish on the PGA TOUR is a T-5 at the 2003 B.C. Open. Grob and his wife Kristi own a Pita Pit outlet in Billings, Montana and his wife often caddies for him.

Dustin Risdon - Calgary native got off to a good start this season with a T-4 at the Stockton Sports Commission Classic. Slipped a notch as the season wore on but he rebounded nicely with a T-13 at the Times Colonist Open where he shot 65 in the second round.

Tommy Barber - The grandson of famed golfer Jerry Barber joined the Canadian Tour at the 2008 California Q-School. He lost a playoff to John Ellis at the Stockton Sports Commission Classic earlier this season. Barber, 25 has played several Nationwide Tour events.

James Lepp - The two-time winner of the Greater Vancouver Charity Classic (2003, 2007) lost a playoff to Daniel Im at the Times Colonist Open after closing with a 65. In 2005, Lepp became the first Canadian to win the NCAA Championship. He also won four consecutive British Columbia Amateur titles (2002 through 2005) and was Canada's top amateur golfer from 2003 to 2005. Lepp won the 2003 Greater Vancouver Charity Classic
