Cracking news from the BC Golf Association
VANCOUVER, B.C. (August 28, 2009) – The British Columbia Golf Association will launch its first championship for the average golfer when the inaugural BC Fresh Egg Scramble becomes the 13th event in the BCGA Championship Series this Sunday at the beautiful University Golf Club in Vancouver.
It's the freshest championship on the British Columbia Golf Association's schedule and the first event of its kind in BC.
“This is an important and fun event that celebrates golf,” says Kris Jonasson, BCGA executive director. “We are committed to promoting golf as part of a healthy lifestyle. Our partnership with the BC Egg Marketing Board not only ensures a strong message but emphasizes that eating a diet that includes eggs contributes to healthy living.”

Four person teams made up of men and women from throughout the Lower Mainland will compete in a handicapped scramble format. Some of the teams include; the First tee of Metro Vancouver, the BC Aboriginal Golf Association, the Vancouver Chinese Golf Club and several other private, semi-private and public club representatives.
The BC Fresh Egg Scramble underscores the strong connection between good nutrition and physical exercise in helping to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.
The BCGA would like to thank all the sponsors for their support of this unique event and hope every team plays well and has lots of fun out there. Get cracking!
The B.C. Fresh Egg Scramble is one of 13 provincial championship conducted annually by the BCGA. Post-round results can be found on the BCGA website at www.bcga.org.
The British Columbia Golf Association represents over 62,000 individual golfers, in more than 300 golf clubs. The governing body of amateur golf in the province, the BCGA acts as a voice in provincial golf affairs and functions as a resource centre for the golf industry. Golf in B.C. drives more than 1.5 billion dollars into the provincial economy each year.
