Final round shootout set for 2010 B.C. Junior Girls’ Championship
Victoria, BC (July 8, 2010) – Amanda Baker of Nanaimo B.C. carded a 2-over par 74 today and moved herself to the top spot 218 (+2) heading into the final round of the 2010 B.C. Junior Girls’ Championship at Gorge Vale Golf Club in Victoria, B.C.
Round two leader Jennifer Yang of Coquitlam, B.C. sits one shot back of Baker at 3-over 219.
Defending champion, A Ram hoi of Surrey, B.C. is tied for third with 2009 B.C. Juvenile champion, Taylor Kim of Surrey, B.C.
Soo Bin Kim of Port Coquitlam, B.C. and Stephanie Wong of Richmond, B.C. are at 6-over 222 for a tie at sixth.
Tomorrow’s round will be an exciting finish as anyone in the final two groups of these talented athletes has a chance at taking home the provincial title.
The top three finishers along with Christine Wong will represent B.C. at the Royale Cup Junior Girls’ Championship at Sawmill Creek Golf Resort in Camlachie, Ontario August 2-6, 2010.
The championship calls for 72 holes of stroke play including a zone championship. Following today’s play, there was a cut to 36. The final round will commence at 8:06 a.m. from the #1 tee.
