JOHN ROBERTSON QUALIFIES FOR CANADIAN OPEN

Hamilton, Ont – Four competitors topped a field of 156 today at Hidden Lake Golf and Country Club in Burlington, ON to qualify for the 2003 Bell Canadian Open.

John Robertson of Courtenay, BC, Scott Bogle of Barrie, ON, Chris Greenwood of Valdese, NC and amateur Lindsay Bernakevitch of Regina, SK earned the final four spots for the Bell Canadian Open, being played September 1-7 at Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Hamilton, Ontario.

Robertson, a golf professional from Crown Isle Golf Resort in Courteney B.C. shot a scorching 64 to take top honors for the day. “I’m ready, I’ve worked a lot on my game this year and it’s been solid for me,” said the 32-year old, who carded two eagles, four birdies and only one bogey on the day. “I’m really looking forward to the week ahead. I want to get off to a good start and contend.”

Scott Bogle of Barrie, ON was second at 66 while Greenwood and Bernakevitch took the third and fourth final qualifying spots in a five-person playoff finishing on the fourth playoff hole.
