MALLON SET TO DEFEND AT BMO FINANCIAL GROUP CANADIAN WOMEN'S OPEN
Vancouver - Defending champion Meg Mallon is hoping the third time will be the charm at the BMO Financial Group Canadian Women's Open. Mallon's last two LPGA Tour victories have been in Canada and a three-peat this week would confirm her status as an honourary Canadian.
When asked to explain the secret to her success north of the border Mallon was warm in her praise for the Canadian tournament and its fans.
"I don't know what the secret is but I'd like to bottle it," she laughed. "I think it's all the services provided for us. We have chiropractors in the locker room and massage therapists and all of these wonderful things we don't get every week. So maybe I just get really relaxed and comfortable when I play this event because we are treated so well. I'm playing in front of the Canadian golf fans that are some of the greatest golf fans in the world so it makes it a lot of fun."
The opening round of Canada's only LPGA Tour event tees off at Vancouver's Point Grey Golf & Country Club on Thursday at 7:30am and continues through Sunday. Pairings and tee times are available on-line at www.bmogolf.com.
Full coverage on TSN runs from 3:00pm - 5:00pm (Pacific) on Thursday and Friday and 4:00pm - 7:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
