Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour to host 4th annual CPGA-Saskatchewan Junior Championship
REGINA, SK – The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s only major junior tour run exclusively by Canadian PGA Professionals and one of Canada’s most successful junior golf programs, is holding its annual tournament in conjunction with the CPGA of Saskatchewan in Deer Valley this June.
The non-profit MJT, which has hosted tournaments in Canada for boys and girls ages 10 through 23 for seven years now, hosts the fourth annual MJT-CPGA of Saskatchewan Junior Championship presented by Finora at Deer Valley Golf and Estates on June 28-29.
Jeff Chambers, Saskatchewan’s High Performance Golf Coach and an MJT Tournament Director, encourages players of all abilities to enter and test their skills in a fun, competitive format. “Participants will play in four divisions and receive great value for their entry fee,” said Chambers. “I hope to see many young people come out and play.”
The entry fee includes two rounds of golf, a long drive and closest-to-the-pin competition, a tee gift, pizza from National Sponsor Boston Pizza, trophies and many prizes.
Some of the country’s top juniors have taken part in the MJT, including Inah Park, the reigning Canadian junior girls’ champion, and Darren Wallace, the Canadian Men’s Amateur Champion. Seven out of the Top 10 RCGA nationally-ranked juniors in 2004 have played on the Tour, which is also endorsed by PGA Tour veterans Dave Barr and Ray Stewart.
To enter the June 28-29 event at Deer Valley Golf and Estates in Deer Valley please call 1-877-859-GOLF or visit the Tour’s website at www.maplejt.com.
