Svensson and Attieh share clubhouse lead at 2010 B.C. Junior Boys’ Championship

Courtenay, BC (July 7, 2010) – Khaled Attieh of Delta, B.C., fired a 4-under par 68 to move himself into a tie for the clubhouse lead at 5-under 139 for the 2010 B.C. Junior Boys’ Championship at Crown Isle Golf Club in Courtenay, B.C.

Attieh, sits tied with Canadian Developmental team member, Adam Svensson of Surrey, B.C.

Yohann Vora of Delta, B.C. is at 2-under 142 for third place followed by Connor Kozak of Vernon, B.C. in fourth at 1-under 143 and Kevin Ko of Coquitlam, B.C. rounding out the top five at 2-over 146.

Following today’s competition the Zone and Club winners were announced. Mason Pimental of Richmond, B.C. and Yohann Vora of Delta, B.C. from Mayfair Lakes Golf Course claimed the club championship at 3-over 291.

From Zone 4, Adam Svensson playing out of Kings Links by the Sea, James Fahy playing out of Marine Drive Golf Club, Michael Belle playing out of the Vancouver Golf Club and Josh Zhang playing out of Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club took the Zone competition.

Today, after the completion of the second round, the field was cut to the low 70 players and ties.

The championship calls for 72 holes of stroke play. Competition continues at the 2010 B.C. Junior Boys’ Championship tomorrow with the third round teeing off at 7:30 a.m. The fourth and final round is scheduled for Friday.

The top four finishers will represent B.C. at the Canadian Junior Boys’ Championship at the Richmond Golf & Country Club in Richmond, B.C. August 2-6, 2010.
