Svensson takes five-stroke lead into final round of 2010 BC Junior Boys’ Championship

Courtenay, BC (July 8, 2010) – Adam Svensson of Surrey, B.C. is now alone atop the leaderboard heading into the final round of the 2010 B.C. Junior Boys’ Championship at Crown Isle Golf Club in Courtenay, B.C.

Svensson fired a third-round 3-under 69 and built himself a nice cushion to sit at 8-under par for the championship and overtake second-round co-leader Khaled Attieh of Delta, B.C.

Attieh shot a 2-over par 74 on the day and is now tied for second at 213 (-3) with Conner Kozak of Vernon, B.C.

Yohann Vora of Delta, B.C. is sitting in fourth at 1-under par 215 while Kevin Ko of Coquitlam, B.C. is in fifth at 1-over 217. Jared Hundza is in sixth at 3-over 219.

Tomorrow will prove to be an exciting finish with anyone in the final two groups having a decent shot at making the inter-provincial team and taking home bragging rights.

The top four finishers will represent B.C. at the Canadian Junior Boys’ Championship at the Richmond Golf & Country Club in Richmond, B.C. August 2-6, 2010.

The championship calls for 72 holes of stroke play. Competition continues at the 2010 B.C. Junior Boys’ Championship tomorrow with the fourth and final round teeing off at 7:30 a.m. from the first and tenth tees.
