WestJet Expands International Network With Two New Sun Destinations

Bridgetown, Barbados, and La Romana, Dominican Republic

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 25, 2008) - WestJet (TSX:WJA) today announced the introduction of seasonal non-stop service to two new international sun destinations in the Caribbean: Bridgetown, Barbados and La Romana, Dominican Republic. These new sun destinations are part of WestJet's enhanced winter schedule, which will also include new service to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, from various cities across Canada. WestJet will announce schedule details for the new Mexican destinations shortly.

WestJet also announced increased frequencies from Toronto to Jamaica, St Lucia and the Dominican Republic.

"With 20 destinations in the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean, we continue to deliver on our international expansion strategy and strengthen our position as a strong and rapidly growing player on the international scene," said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President of Guest Experience and Marketing. "Our current service to key vacation spots is extremely popular and with the addition of Barbados and La Romana, our guests will have more places to go for fun and relaxation in the sun this winter."

WestJet is also introducing service to Kamloops, B.C., from Calgary and adding a new non-stop route between Calgary and Grande Prairie.

These announcements will bring WestJet's existing scheduled destinations to 49. By 2013, WestJet will fly to over 65 scheduled destinations.

Starting November 3, 2008, WestJet will provide seasonal non-stop service to the following new destinations:

Toronto - Bridgetown, Barbados
November 3, 2008 4X weekly

Toronto - La Romana, Dominican Republic
November 3, 2008 1X weekly

Calgary - Kamloops, B.C.
December 15, 2008 1X daily

One-way fares to LaRomana, at the introductory rate of $199 plus applicable taxes, fees and fuel surcharge, are on sale between June 25 and July 9 for travel between November 3 and December 16, 2008.

Details on the sale of seats to Bridgetown, Barbados, will be unveiled soon.

Starting November 2, 2008, WestJet will introduce a new route:

November 2, 2008 6x weekly

WestJet will also increase the number of departures in its existing network. Enhanced winter routes include:

Toronto - Montego Bay November 2, 2008 1X daily
Toronto - Punta Cana November 5, 2008 3X weekly
Toronto - Puerto Plata November 2, 2008 3X weekly
Toronto - St. Lucia November 2, 2008 3X weekly
Toronto - Quebec City November 2, 2008 2X daily
Vancouver - Las Vegas November 2, 2008 2X daily
Calgary - Las Vegas September 9, 2008 2X daily
Victoria - Las Vegas September 9, 2008 3X weekly
Saskatoon - Las Vegas September 10, 2008 2X weekly
