Seven Provinces represented in Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s 7th annual National Championship
BANFF, AB – One of Canada’s most successful junior golf programs, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), will hold its seventh annual National Tour Championship presented by Boston Pizza at the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Club in Banff, Alberta, this weekend.
Top junior golfers from the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia are teeing it up in the 36 hole invitational over September 10-11, after qualifying through the course of the MJT’s regular season.
This is the second time that Banff has hosted the MJT’s major Championship, and players hope to not only win their national divisional titles but also spots on the Maple Leaf Team Canada to the inaugural USA-Canada Team matches at Arizona State University’s course in Tempe, AZ, this December.
The non-profit MJT program, which runs high level multi-day tournaments across the country for boys and girls ages 10 through 23, is Canada’s only major junior golf tour run by Golf Professionals and endorsed by PGA Tour veterans Dave Barr and Ray Stewart.
