Jarad Boddy holds a narrow one stroke lead over Palsenbarg with 18 Holes to play in the 2006 Cleveland Golf - BC PGA Assistants' Championship
2004 BC PGA Champion Fraser Mulholland two strokes back; Parry just three back heading into Tuesday's final round
(July 17, 2006 - Abbotsford, BC) The 2006 Cleveland Golf BC PGA Assistants' Championship is shaping up to be an epic battle with 18 holes left to play at Ledgeview Golf & Country Club in Abbotsford, BC.
Nine players in total are just four shots off the lead heading into tommorrow's final round. Holding a narrow lead by one stroke after 18-holes is Apprentice Professional Jarad Boddy of Urban Links Golf Centre in Port Coquitlam. Boddy fired a superb 3-under par 67 that included a back nine 32 played over blusterly conditions that kicked up around the noon hour and continued for much of the day.
Boddy, a second year BC PGA Professional, has played solid golf thoughtout the year on the Lower Mainland's Srixon Tour including a T-3rd Place at the Peace Portal stop on June 5th, which earned him an exemption into the 2006 Greater Vancouver Classic at Hazelmere.
Just one shot back is long bombing Matt Palsenbarg of Northview Golf & Country Club who shot a textbook 2-under par 68 that included hitting 16 greens in regulation.
"If I can continue my good ball striking from today and have a few more putts fall tommorrow I like my chances," noted Palsenbarg, whose comments mirrored the entire field's challenges over Ledgeview's slick and undulating greens.
2004 BC PGA Champion Fraser Mulholland of Seymour Creek Golf Centre is currently in third place after firing a 1-under par 69. Bryn Parry, highly regarded as the hottest player in the field and fresh off a win at the Chilliwack Open over the weekend, is currently in a three way tie for 4th place with an even par 70.
Its anyone's Championship heading into Tuesday's final round! Tee-times get going at 7:45 am with the leaders teeing off around 11:00 am.
