Kelowna's Newest Golf Course Community Breaks Ground

The Okanagan’s newest residential golf course community broke ground today; Tower Ranch will feature up to 812 premier quality homes.

Located 10 minutes from downtown Kelowna on 446-acres of western-aspect ranchland, Tower Ranch will feature sweeping views of the City, Lake Okanagan, and the mountains beyond. It was more than 15 years ago that Stan Tower (one of the original owners of the land), had a vision for creating an upscale ranch themed golf course community, unique to the Okanagan Valley.

“It’s wonderful that after all this time, Stan’s vision of a community where people can live, play and work is becoming a reality,” said Leila Tower, Stan’s wife. “He has left our family and the entire Kelowna community with a beautiful legacy.”

On hand for the festivities were the partners for the new community: Intrawest Placemaking, Playground Real Estate Inc., Dilworth Homes, and Aberdeen Golf Developments.

“The Tower Ranch community will encompass up to 812 homes linked by an 18-hole championship golf course and large tracts of preserved parkland,” said Andrew Voysey, Executive Vice President Acquisition and Joint Ventures for Intrawest, the master planner of the community. “The extensive property will be developed as four distinct neighbourhoods, each created to ensure their architecture is harmonious with the natural character of the landscape, in tribute to the spirit of the original rancher.”

The first 232 homes (Phase 1) will be developed by Dilworth Homes: Kelowna’s largest new home builder and multi Georgie and Tommie award winner. Dilworth is the development force behind the various upscale Dilworth Mountain Estates communities, as well being extensively involved in the Upper Mission neighbourhoods of South Ridge and Stonebridge Plateau.

The 18-hole championship golf course, designed by renowned golf course architect and multiple award-winner Thomas McBroom, will be built and operated by the acclaimed Aberdeen Golf group. “Tower Ranch is a spectacular property for golf,” said McBroom. “It features dramatically undulating land that will yield a fascinating and thrilling golf course."
